Made from old-growth, hand-salvaged Sitka Spruce root from the Tongass National Forest in Sitka, Alaska.
Just imagine all that a wild Tongass tree endures: winter storms, 100-200 inches of rain a year, huge brown bears rubbing their backs against the trunk. What does a wild tree need? Good roots!
And further: roots evolve, adapt, and respond to new challenges. You can see all of that in this small vessel.
It was shaped to evoke the history of a strong tree and with a small lip around the edge, to possible hold special pieces of jewelry sitting on a bedside table.
